Fredrik Pihl - Nuances (2014)
Nuances is an up-tempo rock/fusion song that was written and recorded in two days. The song is about all stages (nuances) we go through in life. As such the song has a set melody (the core of our lives), improvised parts (things we can not control), a fast tempo (stress and pressure) and some odd chord changes (nuances).

Encrypted Nomad - Guitar Gigolo (2014)
In December 2013 guitar player Mike Hamel approached me and asked if I would like to do a guest solo on one of his songs. He sent me a song for consideration and I really liked the energy so I decided to record a solo. The song also features guitar player Shreddly Shredsteen and drummer Ronald S. Calogero.

Various artists - Shred Freak (2013)
This is a compilation album with lot's of talented players, put together by guitarist Edwin Mclean. I wrote
the fusion song 'Binary Steps' exclusively for the album.
Since me and fellow guitar player Christian Johansson are working on the upcoming In Focuz album
(which is also fusion music), I thought I'd involve him in the project as well, thus turning it into a In Focuz song.
Carl Williams plays some really grrovy drums on the song.
If you enjoy high quality guitar music, played by talented musicians, make sure to get a copy of this album. By doing so
you also support the guitar music industry. A win - win situation!

Fredrik Pihl - Beyond my eyes (2012)
Beyond my eyes is a rock ballad featuring singer Isabel José. The song was intended for the upcoming
In Focuz album that I am writing together with my good friend Christian Johansson. However I figured
that the song wouldn't fit with the other songs on the album (which is more fusion-oriented).
I decided to record the song myself and release it as a single.

Fredrik Pihl - Cthulhu Whisper (2012)
This is the first song I have done only using the Vigier fretless guitar. The writng process started in october 2011 but
got delayed due to various reasons. In january 2012 the song was finally recorded.
Sometimes I have trouble naming songs since they only represent pure music. The atmosphere of the song was
quite dark and heavy (almost in the same vein as my solo album).
I contacted my buddy Dan Verkys who is a master of making dark art pictures. I sent him an email with the song
and he hooked me up with a art of his called "Cthulu Whisper", hence the name of the song.

Fredrik Pihl - Silhouettes (2011)
My first solo album. In 2010 I decided to throw away all my previous songs that were intended for my solo album and
start from scratch. I wanted to head in a different direction and do a solo album that was less guitar oriented.
The first song I wrote was 'Memories', which turned out to be a reference point for the musical atmosphere I had in mind
for the album; dark but still beautiful and melodic with a glimse of light to it. During the same time I was going through
some personal changes in my life, that I'm sure affected the music as well. It was a lot of hard work and I am very proud with the end result.
The album contains special tonalities and moods such as twelve tone rows, three and four tonic
chord progressions. There are also quite a lot of interesting rythmic parts with influences from
south Indian music among other things.
The album has three amazing musicians/friends participating with guest solos: Ron
'Bumblefoot' Thal (Guns N' Roses), Mattias IA Eklundh (Freak Kitchen) and Lalle Larsson (Agents of Mercy).

Simon Hermansson - A funny confusion (2011)
Simon got in contact with me through a Swedish guitar forum (I spend way to much time at those places). He told me that
he was in the process of recording a latin/fusion song and asked if I would be interested in participating. I took a listen to
the song and liked what I heard. I agreed on participating and did three small solos. Two of them on regular guitar and one
solo using the Vigier fretless guitar.

Martin Månsson Sjöstrand trio - Med vänner (2011)
Martin Månsson Sjöstrand trio (recently known as 'Död Saft') is a instrumental indie/surf/progressive rock band
heralding from the south of Sweden. I was asked by Martin (who is also my classmate at Malmö University) to do a
guest appearance on the song 'Jätteperkulatorn'. I play both fretless and fretted solos on the song.

FSX - Sins (2010)
FSX (Future Sound Experiment) is a Swedish rock band featuring my friend and great singer Jimi M Anderson.
During the recordings of their first album, Jimi asked me if I wanted to contribute on a song called Music Messiah.
I did a spontaneous fretless guitar solo on the song and it turned out great. The band was really satisfied with my work.
My old friend and mentor Mattias IA Eklundh is also doing a guest solo on one of the songs. An album worth checking out!

Freaky Guitars - Our Revenge (2006)
Freaky Guitars - Our Revenge was a project thrown together by guitar player Demian Andersson back in 2006.
The ideas was for former Freak Guitar Campers (Mattias IA Eklundh's annual guitar camp) to do a compilation
CD as a surprise for Mattias. Since Mattias is a good friend who has pushed my playing to new limits, I didn't hesitate
to say yes when Demian asked me to join. I decided to involve my best friend and fellow In Focuz guitar player Christian
Johansson in the process., since we actually met for the first time at the camp in 2001.
We wrote the In Focuz song Distop-IA (name was taken from the Freak Kitchen song Dystopia and the abbreviation
of Mattias name: IA).
The song turned out quite good even though our recording equipment wasn't very fancy at the time. Unfortunately
neither me or Christian could participate when the CD was handed over to Mattias as a surprise, but from the word
of mouth I heard he got very moved and happy.

Indemnity - 16 Hours of Darkness (2004)
This demo has a very special place in my heart. I played in this thrash metal band between 2003 -2006. We recorded
16 Hours of Darkness in 2004 and this was my first real studio experience with a band. The demo contains three songs
and received some very good reviews from all over the world. Around 500 copies were printed and they sold out very quickly.
Due to various reasons the band was put to permanent rest in 2006, but I learned a lot during our years together and
I got friends for life!

Meeri Brandum & Fredrik Pihl - Aldrig hänt (2001)
In 2001 a friend of mine told me about a working college of his named Meeri who was about to record a song as a gift.
We got introduced and I decided to help her out by playing acoustic guitar on a cover song called 'Aldrig Hänt'
(originally recorded by Swedish singer Robyn). We met a couple of times to rehearse and then hit the studio to record
the song. It was recorded live in one take without a click or any other rythmic reference. The song was never officially
released in any form. Me, Meeri and the person who received the song as a gift are probably the only ones who have a copy
of the recording. Due to copyright reasons the song will never be uploaded or shared.
