Beyond my eyes (2012)
Beyond my eyes was written during the summer of 2012. It was first intended for the upcoming In Focuz album that I am writing together with my good friend Christian Johansson. However I figured that the song wouldn't fit with the other songs on the album (which is more fusion-oriented). I decided to record the song myself and release it as a single.
I introduced the song and the lyrics to singer Isabel José and together we came up with the vocal melodies. She did a really amazing job singing it. I really think she captured the feeling and atmosphere of the song in her vocals and we both felt really satisfied with the end result. Isabel will also work with me and Christian on the upcoming In Focuz album.
Next up was coming up with a cover artwork for the song. Autumn had just reached Sweden and I took my Canon Eos50D and went out in a park close to where my girlfriend lives. I had her acting as a modell and that turned out to be the cover art.
The song is about love and the pain it can bring. Most of us has experienced this in one way or another.
